By Bus in Raleigh-Durham with Chapel Hill

Greyhound-Carolina Trailways serves the Charlotte area; Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Lexington, and Winston-Salem in the Piedmont; and Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill in the Triangle.

Capital Area Transit is Raleigh's public transport system, Chapel Hill Transit serves Chapel Hill, and Durham Area Transit Authority is Durham's intracity bus system. The fare for each system is 75¢.

The Triangle Transit Authority, which links downtown Raleigh with Cary, Research Triangle Park, Durham, and Chapel Hill, runs weekdays except major holidays. Rates start at $2.

Chapel Hill Transit offers free bus transportation on a fixed route throughout the city and into Carrboro.
