Seagrove

Seagrove

Potters, some of whom are carrying on traditions that have been in their families for generations and others who are newer to the art, handcraft mugs, bowls, pitchers, platters, vases, and clay "face jugs" in the Seagrove area. Some of the work of local artisans is exhibited in national museums, including the Smithsonian. More than 90 potteries are scattered along and off Route 705 and U.S. 220. The annual Seagrove Pottery Festival, held in November, is always a much-anticipated event.
