The 17-story hotel, built to complement the city's new convention center, opened in summer 2008. Rooms are decorated in earth tones and feature halogen lights and prints of local architecture. In-room desks swivel away from the wall, allowing guests to work and watch plasma screen TV at the same time. Bedside clock radios feature iPod docks. Views are good from every side, showing off either expanses of urban greenery or the city's skyline and convention center. The lobby is a wide, welcoming space that flows into the large bar, done in polished hardwood and marble. The hotel is served by Posta Tuscan Grille, run by Italian brothers. Pros: downtown location puts you within walking distance of restaurants, bars, museums, and some historic sites. Cons: pricier than the chain hotels farther from the city center.
