Handmade quilts, tubs big enough for two, and evening cookies and milk in the parlor are just a few of the amenities at this lovely lodging. The rooms, with their exposed rafters, high ceilings, and brick walls, retain the character of the original 1837 textile mill. The graffiti wall, where young female factory workers left their mark, has been carefully preserved. Each guest also gets a ticket for a complimentary glass of wine at the nearby Meridian restaurant. Pros: historic setting is unique. Cons: it may not be as posh as newer hotels.
