Charlotte Museum of History

Fodor's Review:

Built in 1774, this stone building is the oldest dwelling in the county. Hezekiah Alexander and his wife Mary reared 10 children in this house and farmed the land. Seasonal events commemorate the early days. Permanent and rotating exhibits in the museum span 300 years of southern Piedmont history. Admission is free on Sunday.

  • Cost: Tues.-Sat. $6; Sun. free
  • Open: Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5
