Mint Museum of Craft + Design

Mint Museum of Craft + Design Review

This museum is a showplace for contemporary crafts. In addition to the 16,000-square-foot gallery, with its spectacular 40-foot-tall glass wall, the permanent collections of ceramics, glass, fiber, metal, and wood make this one of the country's major crafts museums. The Mint Museum of Craft and Design is an excellent venue for art developed from various crafts and mediums. In fact, part of the Dale Chihuly glass exhibit is featured there along with traveling exhibits. The museum will be moving to the new main Mint Museum of Art building located on S. Tryon Street in the Fall of 2010. Both locations are featured on Charlotte's Longest-Running Daily City Tour by Queen City Tours and Travel.
