This small and inviting place is a real find for food lovers willing to stray from Chapel Hill's lively downtown. Il Palio serves high-class Italian fare with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. The menu even includes a long list of nearby farms and purveyors used. Although the dishes change frequently, previous offerings have included pappardelle Bolognese and pan-seared scallops served with corn succotash. Much more than just a hotel restaurant, this independently owned eatery is a destination in its own right.
