Shad Festival
Shad Festival Review
In early May the Hudson River Maritime Museum celebrates the shad's seasonal swim up the Hudson River with the Shad Festival. Shad and shad-roe dinners, storytelling, crafts, jazz and blues, and boat rides are all part of the festivities. The Gourmet Society of the Culinary Institute of America prepares the food, and samplings from the menus of several waterfront restaurants are also available.
