Fodor's Review:

Models, artifacts, and photographs illustrate the region's maritime history. Changing exhibits show tugboats and antique fishing and sailing craft. You may board the Half Moon, a replica of Henry Hudson's ship, when it's in dock. Tours to the Rondout Lighthouse (also known as the Kingston Lighthouse) leave from the museum's dock. In mid-July the museum hosts the one-day Steam Launch Meet Festival, with displays of working steam engines and a launch parade. Other events include a boat show (in late July or early August) and the Shad Festival in May.

  • Cost: Museum $5, lighthouse $5
  • Open: May-Oct., daily 11-5
