The Brown Hound Bistro
The Brown Hound Bistro Review
Not far from Bristol Mountain (3 mi south), this cozy restaurant in a white, wood-frame house seats just 18, with room for 25 more on a deck overlooking a creek in summer. The seasonal menu of steak, seafood, poultry, and vegetarian dishes has included duck breast with a port-and-dried-fruit compote and seared Chilean sea bass marinated in citrus-soy sauce. Main courses are available in full or petite sizes. Brunch (weekends 8 am-1 pm) offerings, such as buttermilk buckwheat pancakes made with local buckwheat, are impressive. Many Finger Lakes wines are available; live music is performed most Saturday nights.
