Lilac Festival
Lilac Festival Review
Held in early or mid-May, this 10-day event heralds the start of Rochester's festival season. If the more than 1,200 lilac bushes (in 500 varieties) won't cooperate (Mother Nature is on her own schedule, after all), you can ogle the tulips, magnolias, or other blooms. When your eyes and nose have had their fill, arts and crafts, garden tours, and live entertainment beckon.
