Cons

  • Few amenities

Fodor's Review

This campground, one of the oldest in the state, attracts hikers, who access the popular Devil's Path trail at the north end of the campground parking lot. The terrain here, about 3 mi south of the Hunter Mountain ski resort, is mountainous and rocky. Within the campground sits the Devil's Tombstone—a large boulder typical of the area's natural rock formations—which came down the mountain many centuries ago either in a landslide or via glacier. Sites are wooded, with

limited facilities (no electricity, hookups, or showers). Self-contained RVs are welcome.
