Tucked away in the southwest corner of the Catskill Forest Preserve, this family-friendly lodge has the amenities of a small resort. The 1895 inn, which sits on a great lawn, houses guest rooms outfitted with brass and iron beds and muted country prints and quilts. A fireplace warms the game room, which is of the board, rather than video, variety. The grounds include a large barn building that contains a gym, a playroom, an indoor pool, a basketball court, and an all-you-can-eat ice-cream parlor (you serve yourself); access to these facilities costs an additional $100 per room or family. A stretch of the famous Beaverkill runs right through the property, which also has an herb garden and a pond.
