Albergo Allegria Review

Antiques are scattered throughout this handsome 1892 Queen Anne Victorian, which has stained-glass windows and other original features. You can warm up by the fireplace in the parlor—which is slightly formal but inviting—or help yourself to a snack in the kitchen. The house has 12 guest rooms and four suites, all with down comforters and plush carpeting; the decor is country-chic, and flounces are kept to a minimum. The master suite—with its king-size bed and featherbed, double whirlpool tub, and gas fireplace—is billed as honeymoon central. Behind the inn is a carriage house (formerly a horse stable) with a courtyard and outdoor lounge. Its five suites have cathedral ceilings, skylights, double whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces, and garden views. The inn also has two sister properties—the Mountain Streams Cottage, with two suites and one room, and the Farmhouse, with three apartments—in Windham.
