The decor at this German-Swiss restaurant in the heart of Windham combines a slice of Germany—owner Ute Seigies imported the two ceramic stoves, oversize wine casks, and all the ironwork and woodwork from her native country—with fireplaces, candlelight, and lush ficus and palm trees. The chef, who hails from Hungary, turns out authentic Jaegerschnitzel, Wiener schnitzel, and sauerbraten. Fondue offerings include cheese, Chinoise (veal and filet mignon cooked
in broth), and chocolate. The wine-and-beer list is extensive, and the desserts are rich.
