Fodor's Review

Works by new and established playwrights anchor this theater's repertoire. Jonathan Larson's Rent got its start here before going to Broadway, as did the hit musical Once. Works by Tony Kushner (Homebody/Kabul), Caryl Churchill, Amy Herzog, and Paul Rudnick have also been staged here. Hit the box office for day-of CheapTix rush tickets; those seats are $25—in cash—as available, and are only on offer to young people (under 25), seniors (over 65), artists, and residents of the Lower East Side, with proper ID.
