Daring, talented chef Paul Liebrandt, who left two-Michelin-starred Corton in TriBeCa, to man the stoves at this Williamsburg beauty in the summer of 2013 is the real star of the show here. The 70-seat dining room references the neighborhood in subtle ways: the industrial-chic look refers to the neighborhood's past and the vine-clad living green wall is a nod to nearby McCarren Park. The menu is a Gallic-Brooklyn mashup, with British-born Liebrandt using sophisticated
French cooking techniques on local ingredients, and the results are fantastic. Think beet salad with intensely flavored bacon or gnudi (an Italian dumpling) wading in a tangy coconut sauce. For a more intimate dining experience book a seat at Little Elm, an eight-seat counter inside the restaurant that serves an eight-course meal Wednesday to Sunday.
