Wellington Hotel Review

A few blocks south of Central Park and Columbus Circle, the Wellington is a good base for visitors who want to see the sights in Midtown and the Upper West Side. The vibe in the rooms is more classic than edgy or modern, with floral patterns and dark-wood headboards and chests. Bathrooms are dark and on the small side. Suites, however, are spacious, and have microwaves, a refrigerator, and extra beds—a great fit for large families. Molyvos, a boisterous Greek restaurant in the hotel serves excellent Mediterranean food; while the Park Cafe serves three meals a day along with theater snacks. The hotel runs clever theme packages during holidays, which draw return guests every year.

    Great location

The Wellington is in a great location. Just a short walk to Central Park and Times Square. There is a grocery store 3 blocks away that we frequented and stocked our room with pop, water and snacks. The rooms were old and very dated but clean for the most part. The elevators in this hotel are extremely slow but you must wait because the stairs are very steep and poorly lit--we did not feel safe using them. Our AC unit was not working and our lock did not work on our suite when we checked in but the staff promptly moved us to another suite and we did not have any further issues. I would spend a bit more and stay at another hotel on our next trip but would say this hotel is average.

    Wonderful experience

Four of us spent 4 nights on a "girls weekend out" at the Wellington recently. The staff was so accommodating. We arrived before the check-in time and the staff was so helpful as to hold our luggage while we explored the city. They offered a place to change prior to storing our suitcases. We had a one bedroom suite which was wonderful. Two queen sized beds as well as a twin and a sofa. There was also a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was small but very bright with a window. Our experience was outstanding and would recommend The Wellington to anyone.

    Wellington Hotel Review

We returned home from New York last week after our stay in the Wellington Hotel. We had read a lot of bad reports about the place which were a bit off putting.
However it was perfectly acceptible as we were only in the room at night when we crashed out after all the sightseeing we had to do. The room was small but had a bathroom and the usual furniture. The heating/air con. was noisy but you soon get used to it.
Only one thing was missing and that was tea/coffee machines in the room. That wasnt a problem as I never travel anywhere without my kettle.
The Hotel is also very central for everything.
