Boasting the design expertise of David Collins and the decadent cuisine of Britain's most celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay in his first eponymous stateside restaurant, the London NYC merges the style and flair of both of its namesake cities. Each of the 561 spacious, tech-savvy suites features custom furniture like an embossed-leather desk and Egyptian-cotton bedding in a style that combines modern sleek with art-deco chic. Bathrooms are equally well styled, featuring a Waterworks double-head shower and mosaic tiles. For the ultimate splurge, the 54th-floor penthouse London Atrium suite is the highest hotel room in New York. The exclusive British concierge service, Quintessentially, attends to your every whim with tireless charm. Pros: posh atmosphere without prissiness; Gordon Ramsay restaurant; great fitness club. Cons: service reported as pretentious and inconsistent; no bathtubs in most rooms.

I stayed on the 40th floor in a regular King-sized room.....there was a sitting room separate from the bedroom, a nice dressing/closet area and beautiful bathroom. My room was clean, and gorgeous.....anytime I had a request, the service was prompt and polite. I moved to a boutique hotel for the last part of my stay in NYC because I was traveling alone, and I somehow felt the London was a bit pricey and too impersonal. But my room was definitely modern and clean.....Others have complained about street noise.....but being one of the world's great sleepers, that didn't bother me! If you want a modern, stylish, sleek hotel, this would be the place for you. If you want a more quaint, boutique-style hotel, this would not be the place for you!
