Daniel
Daniel Review
Celebrity-chef Daniel Boulud has created one of the most elegant dining experiences in Manhattan today, in an expansive space that recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation. The prix-fixe-only menu (there are à la carte selections in the elegant lounge and bar) is predominantly French, with such modern classics as turbot on Himalayan salt with an ale-and-gingerbread sauce, and a duo of dry-aged Angus black beef featuring meltingly tender red wine-braised short ribs and seared rib eye with black trumpet mushrooms and Gorgonzola cream. Equally impressive are the serious artwork, professional service, extensive wine list, and masterful cocktails by Xavier, one of the city's most respected mixologists. Don't forget the decadent desserts and overflowing cheese trolley. A three-course vegetarian menu is also available.

I have visited several 1-3 star restaurants in Europe and I can't understand how Daniel is regarded as a three star restaurant. I spent $1000 on a taste menue for two. First it was only eight courses - I'm used to at least 12. The selected wines were good but out of the eight courses only one gave me a close "wow" experience. For a three star place ALL courses should give me a "wow" factor! Also one of the corses was ordinary duck/goose liver - what is that??? Even though it's good I can buy my own can of goose liver... Another thing, we didn't dress our best but ok because we travelled light on our way to a djungle tour in Costa Rica. We were kind of treated like second class people. One recommendation: Spend your money elsewhere!

The tasting menu was amazing and the desserts only got better as they broght them out. It is not that expensive and it is a must go to resturant while your in the big apple. Although it is very formal

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining in this fabulous restaurant. From the moment we arrived, to the time we left, we were treated like royalty! We began with glasses of Tattinger Rose, followed by appetizers of lobster and foie gras. Our entrees were mouthwatering morsels of skate and tuna, accompanied by seasonal vegetables, paired with a bottle of lovely Burgundy white wine. The only disappointment is that this restaurant does not make souffles, but the desserts that we chose were scrumptous. The petit fours were also a welcome treat. We even spotted the owner/ chef, Daniel Boulud, greeting guests at their tables. What a wonderful restaurant and dining experience. We will definitely return on our next visit to New York!!

The most amazing service you will ever experience - purse stools, multiple waiters, six courses paired perfectly with wine. All in all it was amazing!
It was definitely a pricey meal, but the unique presentation and multi-flavored dish were worth it for a special occasion.
I highly recommend this restaurant!
