Fodor's Review:

The tasty Ethiopian delicacies offered in this Hell's Kitchen storefront include kitfo, spiced ground steak, which you can order raw, rare, or well done, and yebeg alecha, tender pieces of lamb marinated in Ethiopian butter flavored with curry, rosemary, and an herb called kosart, and then sautéed with fresh ginger and more curry. The vegetarian combination, served on injera, a yeasty and slightly porous flat bread used as a utensil to sop up the food, is a great deal.

After a few nights of splurging, Meskerem was a fun, great meal with an a authentic and welcoming atmosphere that didn't hit the pocketbook too hard. Great food, a unique treat (first Ethiopian experience, we tried the sample platter and were very happy with that choice) and extremely affordable by any measure, whether you're inside NYC city limits or not. The short walk from Times Square made this a great choice for a good meal in the area, which we've otherwise found hard to find.
