Don't be put off by the name—this boisterous Chinatown icon serves much more than the eponymous rice porridge. Indeed, the menu is enormous, covering an encyclopedic range of unusual Cantonese classics. The bamboo-cloaked dining room is great with a group of people, but being wedged in at a communal table with a boisterous family is part of the experience. If you're feeling adventurous, try the duck tongues in XO sauce or salt-and-pepper frog, or stick to familiar classics.
Either way, the congee is a great way to start.
