Char No. 4

Updated 02/25/2014

Fodor's Review

With 300-plus whiskeys to choose from—the focus is on American labels—Char No. 4 is a connoisseur's dream (the name refers to barrels in which the golden liquor is aged). Naturally, there are also plenty of bourbon-accented cocktails (try the Noreaster, with ginger beer and maple syrup). To complement your tipple, there are updated dishes from south of the Mason-Dixon line. Many of the appetizers involve bacon; don't miss the thick-cut bacon with peas and carrots,

lamb pastrami, the BLT, or the cheese curds with pimento sauce.
