Fodor's Review

Long a mainstay in the Meatpacking District, Pastis looks like it was shipped in, tile by nicotine-stained tile, from Paris's Pigalle neighborhood. French favorites are front and center, including toothsome steak frites with béarnaise, mussels steamed in Pernod, and a tasty apple tartlet with phyllo crust. The people-watching is stellar, and there's a still a good chance you'll see a local celebrity or two. Tables outside in nice weather are prime real estate. Locals

and visitors are still drawn to this neighborhood mainstay so it gets busy at mealtimes.

Ah... Pastis!

This is one of my favorite places to people watch. The Salade Nicoise is my favorite, although I was eyeing my friend's Steak Tartare & fries... So for a place to grab dinner, and then head out to APT for some nightlife... this place can't be beat...

Hip as it gets

This is agreat place to lounge, entertain and watch others do the same. The atmosphere is bar-none and the staff is helpful. -A little trendy but worth checking out.

More French than any place I visited in Paris!

We actually ate dinner here to see if we could see any movie stars. I heard this was the place to catch one. Just so you'll know, I did see Molly Ringwald there!!! Anyways, the food was quite nice. Very French. When I was in Paris about 1 1/2 years ago, I looked furiously to find a very "French" restaurant to get teh full effect. Pastis has all the atmosphere you could ever want and very typical French food. Fries were yummy, and so was the

artichoke appetizer. My friends couldn't keep their hands out of my plate! I was a bit disappointed in the desserts. They were a bit too plain. Next time I'll go back for breakfast or lunch. Ooh, la, la!
