Peacock Alley

$$$-$$$$, American, Midtown East

User Rating: ***** 4.8

Fodor's Review:

When the illustrious Peacock Alley was shuttered shortly after 9/11, many a jaw dropped. But in part because you must come all the way inside the Waldorf-Astoria to find the restaurant -- there is no separate entrance -- the place never attracted the audience it so richly deserved. After a face-lift, however, the restaurant has returned, better than ever. Alsatian chef Cedric Tovar has created some especially enthralling dishes, such as Alaskan king crab leg salad, tomato water-glazed skate wing, and wild-pepper marinated pork loin.

Extravagant Sunday Brunch

Posted by john2ny from New York on 3/30/08

I went to the restaurant Sunday brunch in March with family. There was a large selection of food items including seafood, carving meat, salmon, deserts, .... It was quiet an experience. We were seated in a large dinng room behind the bar and just had to go around a tall clock where the food is displayed. Basically there is a chef for each station. You can also help yourself. The bill was high, but we had a glass of champagne to start and fantastic food as much as we wanted (could!). The desert selection was incredible and they kept refilling the table.
