If you like the East Village, reserve your room now, because these eight rooms are the only way to experience the neighborhood like a local. A loyal core of regular patrons, mainly Europeans, keeps it booked at least five months in advance. Far from the tourist traps, it's easy to blend into the scene here. A punctilious owner keeps the large rooms spotless and the prices cheap. Two caveats: you have to walk up to the third or fourth floor, and the bar downstairs can be noisy, especially on weekends. The six largest rooms are themed: two are modern plus Caribbean, Peruvian, skylight, and tribal. Guests have use of a communal kitchen. Pros: spacious rooms; very clean; rare East Village rooms. Cons: walk-up building; two rooms share a bath.
