They may have added tablecloths, but it would take more than that to hide the brusque, no-nonsense nature of this West Side branch of the legendary steak house. The steak is always impeccable, and the Nova Scotia lobsters are so big -- 4 pounds and up -- there may not be room at the table for such classic side dishes as rich creamed spinach, served "family-style" for two or more. The "half-and-half" side combination of cottage-fried potatoes and fried onions is particularly addictive.

From LA to NYC, The Palm restaurant is an excellent choice. We had Tuscan chicken and Sea Bass, with a great waiter (the best in the business) and a table right when we showed up (with an online reservation). I would have rated the service lower since the Matre d was rude, but the manager rescued her by quickly intervening and seating us.
I've enjoyed this great restaurant in LA and in NYC, go there!
