Ocean Grill

$$-$$$, Seafood, Upper West Side

User Rating: ** 1.8

Fodor's Review:

Known for its expansive raw bar, this stylish seafood spot is consistently packed with couples who look grateful that the babysitter didn't cancel. The drinks are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the fish is impeccably fresh. Best bets beyond the great raw bar are the selection of sushi rolls and simple grilled entrées, such as tuna, salmon, and swordfish, although there are also more elaborate creations, like coconut-lemongrass steamed lobster and shrimp with soba noodle salad and curry broth. After all that lightness, go ahead and finish with a caramelized banana ice cream tower in a hazelnut shell with toasted marshmallow sauce.

Can't Breath in this overcrowded place

Posted by JerseySue from New Jersey on 4/15/07

The tables are so close it's hard to get through ! The service was just not there and the food was definitely not worth the price. It was so crowded in the dining area that the hostess was trying to get through carrying our drinks from the bar that she got hit by an elbow and spilled them ! If you're claustrophobic - this is not the place to be ! My husband had a steak and he said Outback had better. We were really looking forward to this restaurant but needless to say it was very disappointing.
