NoLIta

Many locals would probably say that the spirit of old SoHo is somewhat alive in NoLIta (North of Little Italy), a charming neighborhood with an artistic spirit, independently run boutiques and restaurants, and a local vibe. The streets here are less frantic and crowded than either SoHo or Chinatown, and each block could provide hours of roaming and ducking into small shops, nursing a cappuccino at a sidewalk café, or lingering over a meal surrounded by stylish New Yorkers. This is downtown, so the prices aren't cheap, but the quality is high and the experience unique.
