Bridgehampton
The beautiful beaches are just part of the attraction at this quiet, classy Hamptons community. Elegant Bridgehampton has antiques shops, art galleries, and restaurants in which you can sip wine made from locally grown grapes. This is also horse country, and in summer Bridgehampton hosts the prestigious annual Hampton Classic Horse Show and the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. South of the village of Bridgehampton, running along the ocean, is the area called Sagaponack, a traditional agricultural community dating from 1656 and known for having some of the richest soil on Long Island. Even though more grand homes are being built on this precious farmland every year, you can still buy outstanding local berries, vegetables, and flowers at the farm stands here.
