Marked hiking trails of 1½ to 11 mi lace the preserve's 2,000-plus acres of beech and oak forest, meadows, tidal wetlands, beach, and freshwater ponds. A large population of ospreys nests here, along with many other bird species. The preserve is also home to harbor seals, turtles, and foxes. At the visitor center, ask for directions to the nearby gazebo, which has a water view. The Nature Conservancy, which owns the preserve, also runs tours and educational programs here.
