Fodor's Review:

The breathtaking views from the huge porch of this hilltop B&B 3 mi from the village center are of woods and Otsego Lake's western shore. Shaker pieces are used throughout the house. The largest guest room, outfitted with Early American as well as Shaker furnishings, is impeccable. The property encompasses miles of private hiking trails, and you can arrange for horseback riding with a nearby outfitter.

The Diastole Bed and Breakfast is beautiful and relaxing. The innkeepers were extremely welcoming and accomodating. My husband and I were looking to escape the chaos of NYC and found the peace and quiet we were looking for at Diastole!
