Historic Taos Trolley Tours conducts daily narrated tours of Taos, including stops at the San Francisco de Asís Church, Taos Pueblo, Millicent Rogers Museum, and La Hacienda de los Martínez. Separate history and culture tours also are available. Tours run from May to October and cost $33 each, which covers entry fees to all sights.
Native Sons Adventures organizes biking, backpacking, rafting, snowmobiling, and horseback and wagon expeditions. Taos Indian Horse Ranch conducts two-hour trail rides, as well as old-fashioned horse-drawn sleigh rides through the Taos Pueblo backcountry—winter weather permitting—complete with brass bells, a Native American storyteller, toasted marshmallows, and green-chile roasts. Tours are by reservation only; no alcohol is permitted. The ranch closes for 42 to 48 days each year to observe the Taos Pueblo Sweats Ceremony; call the Taos Pueblo Governor's Office for the exact dates.
