Once a ramshackle adobe hacienda, this homey B&B on 7½ acres has been completely and lovingly outfitted with the owners' hand-carved doors and furniture, Western artifacts, and antiques. Some rooms have the smallest bathrooms you'll ever encounter but have private entrances, and some have fireplaces. There are 80-mi views from the outdoor hot tub, and it's a five-minute drive to town. The owners welcome families. Breakfasts are healthy and hearty.

The couple that runs this B&B has poured their heart and soul into every aspect of it. You won't find a better place. The room we had was fabulous, the service friendly and simply excellant, the food terrific and their dogs are perfect with the guests. I hate to give them such great marks as the next time I go to Taos I'm sure they will be booked, but they deserve the aclaim. The inn is five minutes driving from the Plaza but in our view that was a wonderful plus to have some quiet after enjoying the bustle of the town. The hot tub at 10pm under the stars is ideal. We will be back along with their other regulars.
