Just north of Taos Plaza, this two-story Pueblo-style adobe carries the theme of the kachina (a figure representing a masked ancestral spirit) throughout. Guest rooms sustain the Native American motif, with handmade and hand-painted furnishings and colorful bedspreads. From Memorial Day to Labor Day a troupe from Taos Pueblo performs nightly ritual dances outside by firelight. Rates include a wine-and-cheese welcome reception in the early evening.

What a sad excuse for a hotel. I've never actually walked into a hotel room....and walked out. This was a first. The experience began with a dour old hag who "welcomed" me to this den of squalor. My first tip was the empty parking lot on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. I walked into the room and experienced time travel...back to 1966. That was likely the last time the carpet was cleaned. These clowns should bulldoze the place and put up a Hampton Inn.
