Fodor's Expert Review San Geronimo Lodge

1101 Witt Rd., Taos, New Mexico, 87571, USA

Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.

Built in 1925, this property was one of the earliest hotels in Taos and sits on 2½ acres that front majestic Taos Mountain and adjoin the Carson National Forest. Owners Charles and Pam Montgomery have worked hard to modernize and brighten rooms while preserving the property's historical charm and appeal. An extensive library, attractive grounds, rooms with gas or wood fireplaces and private decks, and five rooms for guests with pets are among the draws. Hanging Navajo rugs, Talavera-tile bathrooms, and high viga ceilings provide an authentic Southwestern experience.
