Fodor's Review

More an arts, educational, and community gathering space than a museum, the 31,000-square-foot El Museo celebrates Santa Fe's—and New Mexico's—rich Hispanic heritage by presenting a wide range of events, from children's theater, to musical concerts, to the Santa Fe Show, during which 65 craftspersons and artists exhibit their work in early August. There's a small gallery showing contemporary art by Hispanic artists. A great resource to visitors who plan ahead are the many classes and workshops, which touch on everything from guitar and Mexican folkloric dance to children's theater and art.
