Walk into this inviting space a few blocks from the Plaza—with its open kitchen, stacked stone walls, and high ceiling—and you'll likely hope that the food tastes as good as the room feels. Thankfully, it does. The crab cakes are stellar; leading entrées include "farmhouse" meatloaf (beef, veal, and pork with a marsala-mushroom demi-glace), and slow-braised lamb shank in maple-barbecue sauce, and there's also a noteworthy cheese list and a menu of lighter, international
tapas selections. The beautiful desserts often favor chocolate. There's a nice selection of wines, plus a limited offering of locally brewed beers.
