Matador Review

Matador is a dark, subterranean dive bar close to the Plaza. Owners Frank and César, both entertaining characters, have banished any notions of Southwest-style decor by painting the place black and covering the walls with old punk posters, and locals love it. You'll find a decent selection of beers, stiff mixed drinks, and some fine tequilas (this is Santa Fe, after all). The early crowd is older, and gets younger and hipper as the night goes on.
