Albuquerque's shopping strengths include a handful of cool retail districts, such as Nob Hill, Old Town, and the rapidly gentrifying downtown. These are good neighborhoods for galleries, antiques, and home-furnishing shops, bookstores, and offbeat gift shops. Otherwise, the city is mostly the domain of both strip and indoor malls, mostly filled with ubiquitous chain shops, although you can find some worthwhile independent shops even there.
