Jennifer James 101

Jennifer James 101 Review

Helmed by and named for one of New Mexico's most respected chefs, this small Uptown eatery is known mostly by foodies, locals, and fans of Jennifer James' previous restaurants around town. The menu is limited, and reservations are a must, but once you take your seat in the simple, high-ceilinged dining room in an unassuming shopping center, you're in for a treat. The menu changes often and focuses on seasonal ingredients; perhaps an appetizer of salt-cured foie gras with mâche and a balsamic-pomegranate reduction, or a main dish featuring wild boar braised with red wine and rosemary and served with polenta, grilled radicchio, and Gorgonzola. There's also a carefully considered wine list that includes several surprisingly affordable, good bottles.
