Barelas Coffee House
Barelas Coffee House Review
Barelas may look like a set in search of a script, but it's the real deal: diners come from all over the city to sup in this old-fashioned chili parlor in the Hispanic Historic Route 66 neighborhood south of downtown. You may notice looks of quiet contentment on the faces of the many dedicated chili eaters as they dive into their bowls of Barelas's potent red. There's also tasty breakfast fare. The staff treats everybody like an old friend—indeed, many of the regulars who come here have been fans of Barelas for decades.

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, then you've come to the right spot. The food is plentiful and the quality is superb. I've been going here for well over 15 years and I have yet to have bad food or service. The staff is friendly and willing to go that extra mile to make your visit a pleasant and enjoyable one.
The food is prepared and in good quantity for each patron. If you are planning on a visit, come hungry, you won't be disappointed.
