St. Clair Winery and Bistro

Fodor's Review:

The state's largest winery, located in the southern New Mexico town of Deming, St. Clair Winery has a charming and affordable restaurant and tasting room in Old Town. It's part of a small shopping center on the west side of the neighborhood, just south of I-40. You enter a shop with a bar for winetasting and shelves of wines and gourmet goods, which leads into the dark and warmly lighted dining room. There's also a large, attractive patio. At lunch, sample the panini sandwich of New Mexico goat cheese and roasted peppers. Dinner treats include crab-and-artichoke dip, garlic chicken slow-cooked in chardonnay, and pork tenderloin with merlot and raspberry-chipotle sauce. On weekends, St. Clair serves a popular Sunday brunch.
