Ambrozia Cafe & Wine Bar

Fodor's Review:

In a modest but charming bungalow on the edge of Old Town, Ambrozia scores raves in part for its exhaustive wine list, but also for its ambitiously creative food. You might begin with the signature lobster "corn dog"—skewered lobster tails with jalapeño corn batter, served with chipotle ketchup, mustard cream, and avocado rémoulade. Next consider citrus-marinated pork loin grilled over charred tomato and chorizo grits with black bean-corn salsa and a sweet plantain crema. Presentation here is just as artful as the food itself. The dining room is clean and simple, the perfect backdrop for such colorful food. There's a popular happy hour on weekdays where discounted wines by the glass are served, and Sunday brunch here is terrific.
