Explora Science Center

Fodor's Review:

Albuquerque's cultural corridor received another jewel in 2003, when this imaginatively executed science museum opened right across from the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Explora bills itself as an all-ages attraction, but there's no question that many of the hands-on exhibits -- from a high-wire bicycle to kinetic sculpture display -- are geared especially to children, with hands-on exhibits about science, technology, and art. There are also a playground and a freestanding staircase that appears to "float" between floors.

  • Cost: $7
