Fodor's Review

Locals flock to this unassuming Ducktown favorite, decorated with New York Yankees and other sports memorabilia. Open and run by the same family since 1935, the restaurant is known for Italian standards as well as steaks and seafood. Lunch is one of the best deals around, with most entrees coming in at under ten dollars.

Perfect for parties

Last March, my mom, grandma and myself went down to A.C. to celebrate my grandma's birthday. We planned it to go to Angelo's for dinner. My mom went there in the past and she had a very good experience. When we first went in, we saw the bar area. Then, we had to go up a step into the dinning room. It looked like we were in an Italian Vineyard. Plus we saw classic hall of famers from sports hanging from the walls. The food was served in huge

portions. You do get your money's worth. We all had a nice time and my grandma had a really nice birthday.

Overrated and Disappointing...

Angelo's is popular in Atlantic City and has banquet rooms, so it was recommended to us to dine there and consider the restaurant for a party. For starters, the banquet manager cannot be reached except by leaving a voicemail or email. Eventually, she gets back to you, but hurriedly and doesn't answer all your questions. That said we had dinner. The food was terrific, and reasonably priced with generous portions. You'll take home a doggy bag. Skip

the calamari rings. Tasty, but `onion` rings isn't what we had in mind. The personnel, however, was at the bottom end of what you typically get in Atlantic City. Mostly unfriendly, uncourteous staff with a few exceptions. In a city with a multitude of quality dining options, why settle for a place that is probably getting by on a past reputation, while likely waiting for a table for quite a while in a crowded, smoky bar? Needless to say, we won't be going back, and we took our party elsewhere

Wonderful Dining Experience

The food is excellent. The lobster ravoli is outstanding. The servers are very friendly and efficient. All of my experiences there have been positive. Looking forward to my next visit.

An Oldie, but not a goodie.

Judging from the pictures on the walls, Angelo's has fed many famous people. I guess they had much better food back then. On my last visit, (and I do mean "my last visit"), I had the "homemade?" gnocchi. They could best be described as chewy globs of cooked potato dough, covered with a heavy Italian meat sauce that had far too many spices. Even the Italian bread was gummy. For the price, this was one of the poorest Italian meals I've had in Atlantic

City.
