Fodor's Review

A sprawling 1850s mansion designed for the Philadelphia chemist who invented quinine dominates Cape May's tranquil northern shore. Angel of the Sea is Disneylike in its gingerbread perfection: flowered wallpaper, beds with ornate headboards, and a flurry of white wicker add to the fairy-tale aura. Some guest rooms have working fireplaces. Curvaceous period antiques, covered in lace doilies, outfit the common areas.

Spend your heavenly weekend someplace better in Cape May

Completed dissappointed with this overrated bed and breakfast. Our room (an "Angel Suite" at $315 per night) was very outdated and extremely small. We were completely cramped always walking over each other and stepping on each other's toes because we had to both cram into the pint size bathroom when trying to get ready to go out. There was no other place in the room to sit and apply makeup and complete hair. We had small ants in our bathroom on

the sink and crawling all over the floor. The owner was miserable and did not care to greet her guests that were spending a lot of money. There are too many other better choices in Cape May. This B & B is beautiful when lit up at night, but don't be fooled.

not so heavenly!

Stayed at the Angel last June, this is our 4th visit to Cape May,never stayed here, was always curious with all the rants and raves, we were a bit disappointed, the rooms were verrry tired, needed updating amd were very cramped. The breakfasts and wine and cheese were fine, the location is heavenly, across from a very quiet part of the island.

Great B&B

Large pink B&B right across from the beach in Cape May. Rooms were a bit noisy in the main house. Breakfasts were good and tea time and wine and cheese time were both great. Great place to relax. Plenty of porches to sit back and enjoy the view. The restaurant at the Peter Shields Inn (right next door) was amazing!
