Fodor's Review

Potted palm trees line the corridors, fountains bubble, soft beiges and yellows bathe the walls. You've traveled back to pre-Castro Cuba, or perhaps Miami, anywhere with a Caribbean breeze. That's the idea at least. With the addition of "The Quarter" entertainment complex, the Tropicana has fully embraced its tropical theme. Rooms are spread throughout four towers. In the West Tower, they're more modern and wear blue and white stripes, while in the Havana and North towers

they're clothed in wallpaper and plaids. Suites feature a more subdued palette and expansive ocean views. The atmosphere here is slightly frantic and sometimes chaotic, but the hotel offers plenty of escapes from the busy casino scene, including skincare treatments, oxygen facials, and therapeutic couples massages at the Bluemercury Spa.

Tropicana Casino Review

My family and I went to the Tropicana to see Miracle on 34th Street last December. Great show. I love the Quarter. The Seaside Cafe was closed. The room was comfy and decent.

Fine, but ordinary

Room was clean and functional. Rates vary widely, so it may or may not be a good deal. The Quarter was cool - but the atmosphere didn't carry over into the rest of the hotel.

4 Rooms in 2 nights

We checked in on a Friday afternoon. We arrived at ou room to find the bed sunken in the middle. The shower drain was popped out w/scum showing. The room was filthy and banged up, stunk like stale smoke. We were paying $300.00 a night for a room that was worse than a Super 8 in the rough part of town. After complaining we were put in a total of three other rooms. The final room was a suite "one of the best". The last room still smelled of stale

smoke when the hvac system was operated. By the end of our stay I felt like an employee of the hotel, I had carried our luggage from one tower to another and from floor to floor. We were in town for a business convention. We decided to attend the convention at the last minute and found the Tropicana was the only hotel that had rooms available. I now know why. Absolute horrible experience. This hotel is certainly sub - standard. We went to the Trump Plaza for dinner and to play the slots. Had a great time at Trump.
