By Train to Spring Lake in New Jersey Shore with Atlantic City

Commuting by train from New York to Spring Lake takes a reasonable 1½ hours; the timetable is stable, and you don't have to worry about traffic. New Jersey Transit trains leave from Manhattan's Penn Station; you want the Jersey Coast line. Once in Spring Lake, call your lodging for a cab, or else walk. The village is small—the longest walk from the station is only 1½ mi. The train schedule is posted outside the station.
