That cluster of fluorescent buildings on Route 16 is Story Land, a theme park with life-size storybook and nursery-rhyme characters. The 20 rides and five shows include a flume ride, a Victorian-theme river-raft ride, a farm tractor-inspired kiddie ride, swan boats, a pumpkin coach, and a farm-family variety show (presented in a new theater, which opened in 2004). In early spring, when only parts of the park are open, admission is reduced to $16.
